Lazy Son:
Dipak Ghanti was a lazy boy. He used to live with his mother, Sangita Ghanti, in a small town at Krishnanagar which was around 100 km away from Kolkata.
Dipak's father was a rich money lender and he was also very hard working.
Dipak's father used to go to Shiv temple every morning before sunrise and after that he used to take a round of his farm, stable and all his business was running smoothly. But the money lender was very upset with his son's lazy attitude.
Father: "Son, wake up. Let's come with me to the farm and help me in work".
Dipak: "Not now dad. Let me sleep for a while".
Money lender got very upset and went to the farm alone. After some days he got very sick and he died soon. Even after the death of his father Dipak didn't take any interest in his father's business. Due to that they were having massive loss in the business. Seeing this Dipak's mother, Sangita, said to him "Dipak, we are facing a great loss in our business".
Dipak: "So, what can I do in this. I don't have any knowledge in the business. Even I have never gone to the farm with dad".
Sangita: "Do one thing. Your grandfather lives in the next village. He has a great knowledge of this business. You go and meet him. He must be having a solution for this problem".
Dipak: "All right mom. I'll go tomorrow only.
Next morning Dipak went to his grandfather.
Dipak: "Greetings grandpa".
Grandfather: "God bless you son. Tell me, how are you".
Dipak: "After dad's death we are facing a great loss in our business. Mom told me to come to you to get your expertise. Only you can help us by giving your advice".
Grandfather: "Your mom is absolutely right. I have a solution for your problem".
Dipak: "Tell me grandpa, tell me quickly. I can't wait anymore".
Grandfather: "You will have to do just one thing. Like your father you have to go to Shiv temple every morning before sunrise and after that you have to look after all your business and you have to do this everyday".
Dipak: "All right grandpa, I'll do the same what you told me".
From next morning Dipak started waking up before sunrise. He first used to go to Shiv temple and then used to go to look after all his business and then his farms and ration shop and after that to his stable. It went for few days. Seeing him coming to work everyday the labourers were discussing with each other.
Sandip Ghosh (Labourer): "Did you see that the boss was coming to work everyday?".
Palash Biswas (Labourer): "Yes, we have to stop all the scams now".
Anirban Sarkar: (Labourer): "Yes, you are right. Otherwise, we will be trapped".
Gradually all the labourers saw that Dipak Ghanti was taking round the shop, farm and the stable and in the fear to be trapped they stopped all the scams.
After the closure of the scams the loss in the business also decreased and Dipak and his mom gradually became rich again.
Dipak Ghanti: "Wow mom! Due to grandpa's advice we again became rich".
Sangita Ghanti: "You are right son. You should go to your grandpa and thank him".
Dipak did what his mother told and he went to his grandfather.
Dipak: "Grandpa, thank you so much. You have done a miracle by giving your valuable advice. Our business has flourished again".
Grandfather: : "I have not done anything. You only have done all the hard work".
Dipak: "What? Is it really me? But how grandpa?
Grandfather: "All the things were happening due to your laziness. Due to your laziness you were not focussing attention on your business and the labourers were taking undue advantages of that and they done all the scams. But now you are going to work everyday and the labourers stopped all the scams in fear to be caught and your business has flourished again".
By listening to his grandfather Dipak realized his mistakes and left his laziness. He continued working hard for his business.
Moral of the Story:
"Laziness is a bad thing. We must complete our work on time by sacrificing our laziness".
